Abbott Duphalac Oral Solution 200ml

The present therapeutic indications include constipation for the regulation of the physiological rhythm of the colon or where a soft stool is considered of medical benefit.

Duphalac® has an enviable track record of tolerability and safety in over 50 years of clinical use in constipation over all age groups. This has been confirmed by large numbers of clinical studies with thousands of constipated patients worldwide. At the beginning of treatment, flatulence may occur. As a rule it disappears after a few days. When dosages higher than instructed are used, abdominal pain and diarrhea may occur. In such a case the dosage should be decreased.

Duphalac liquid contains 67g lactulose, less than 10g galactose and less than 6g lactose per 100ml.

Starting Dose Daily:

Adults & adolescents...15-45ml

Children (7-14 years)...15ml

Children (1-6 years)...5-10ml

Infants under 1 year...up to 5ml

Maintenance Dose Daily:

Adults & adolescents...15-30ml

Children (7-14 years)...10-15ml

Children (1-6 years)...5-10ml

Infants under 1 year...up to 5ml 

- Use with caution in patients with hypertension, glaucoma, diabetes or hyperthyroidism.

- Do not exceed the stated dose. 

- Keep out the reach of children.
